The CFDR × Renoon Transparency & Traceability Pilot

Digital Product Passports for Fashion SMEs

January 24 – March 25, 2026
Final outcomes presented during Bucharest Fashion Week

About the program

The two-month pilot was designed to support fashion designers and brands in Romania in preparing for the next phase of sustainable and circular fashion in Europe.

The program focuses on Digital Product Passports (DPP) — a key upcoming requirement under EU regulation — and translates it into a practical, designer-friendly framework, adapted to the realities of small and medium fashion businesses.

Rather than theory or certification, the program offers hands-on guidance, tools, and real use cases, helping designers turn regulation into opportunity.

Why this matters now

From 2027, Digital Product Passports will become mandatory for fashion and textiles in the European Union. Designers and brands are expected to provide structured information about materials, origin, production, care, and circular potential of their products.

This program allows participants to understand what DPP means in practice test it on real products and gain early experience ahead of regulatory pressure.

What participants gain

  • Guided onboarding on Renoon’s DPP platform
Including supply-chain mapping, product data structuring, and passport creation.
  • Hands-on application
Designers will implement DPPs on selected products from their collections.
  • Strategic positioning
Learn how transparency, traceability, and storytelling can enhance brand value, customer trust, and long-term competitiveness.
  • Visibility & recognition
Selected projects will be presented as part of the Sustainability Program outcomes during Bucharest Fashion Week, together with a public summary report.

Programme format

The pilot is structured to be realistic for fashion SMEs:

  • 3 online working sessions (Zoom)
    Duration: 1 hour each
  • Ongoing chat support
Direct operational support from the Renoon team between sessions
  • Independent work by the brand
Focused time for collecting and validating information from suppliers and production partners

No prior technical knowledge is required.

What is required from brands

To participate effectively, brands must:

  • Designate one responsible person within the team
  • Allocate time to collect material composition and sourcing information, supplier and production details, relevant care and product data
  • Actively communicate with suppliers and manufacturers during the pilot

Participation is offered under special pilot conditions, available for a limited number of brands.
